Abstract

This text is extracted from a document resulting from research conducted under the Duramaz and Duramaz 2 research programs, thanks to funding from ANR (National Research Agency), which allowed two long field research missions to Parauapebas (Pará) in 2007 and 2014. The document is unpublished and is only available as a pdf on the HalSHS open archive website, under the title Et au milieu coule l'Igarapé gelado. Peasants, Cooperative, Town Hall and the Valley in Parauapebas (Pará, Brazilian Amazon). It is part of the first part of the text, "An example of sustainable development, the Cooper fruit cooperative", written by Évelyne Gauché, Guillaume Marchand, Neli Aparecida de Mello-Théry, Hervé Théry and Véronique Van Tilbeurgh, who participated in the first mission, with the support of Rovaine Ribeiro.
