Abstract

The book Enigma do disforme: neoliberalismo e biopoder no Brasil global by Giuseppe Cocco and Bruno Cava takes Michel Foucault’s critique of neoliberalism to offer an interpretation of the political impasses of the Brazilian and Latin American left. In order to do so, it unfolds this critique in two planes: one, so to speak, properly historical, in which one seeks to reinterpret the meanings of Brazilian and Latin American historical formation and another more linked to the interpretative and political disputes arising in the context of what they call “progressive cycle” in Brazil and Latin America.
