Urban membranes: the city scene and scenery

Abstract

Starting from the segmentation of the elements of the urban fabric, we propose to do the inverted way, meeting under what It is called urban membranes, three urban elements in the neighborhoods: the sidewalk, the façade and the indoors ambients contiguous to their facades. About these urban membranes, we suppose, lie in the concerns and actions of several urban agents that among their motivations, they intend to heal wounds that came from the modern urbanism. To go deeper into our ideas we will briefly talk about urban fabric and Its segmentation, about urban drawing manuals and also the concept of urbanity. We mean to mention as urban membranes the privileged place to public and private interventions, the scenery of the city and neoliberal strategic urbanism. This is the beginning of what we hope will lead to promising place for contributions that launch new forms of thinking urban morphology, also the effects urban edification, questions on interventions that intend to make these areas dynamic, sustainable and economically viable through renewal or reconstruction of specific fractions of the city.
