Identificação e intervenção precoce de primeiro episódio psicótico em cenários não especializados

Resumo

O diagnóstico e manejo precoce de um primeiro episódio psicótico influencia diretamente no prognóstico dos indivíduos. Trata-se da fase inicial de um transtorno psicótico, que é um transtorno mental grave caracterizado por delírios, alucinações e/ou desorganização comportamental e do pensamento. O primeiro atendimento a estes pacientes comumente é realizado por um médico não psiquiatra em um cenário de urgência ou de atenção básica, e o profissional deve ser capaz de identificar e conduzir adequadamente o caso, sem atraso no diagnóstico, na coleta de exames e no início do tratamento mais adequado.
