Associação entre retinopatia diabética e pé diabético e variáveis clínicas e pessoais em pacientes de um centro de referência

O diabetes mellitus (DM) é um dos maiores problemas de saúde em todo o mundo, apresentando importantes complicações, como a retinopatia diabética (RD) e o pé diabético (PD). A combinação de RD com PD afetaria mais severamente a saúde das pessoas, comprometendo vários aspectos de suas vidas e do sistema de saúde. Objetivo: Verificar a associação entre RD e PD em pacientes atendidos em um centro de referência. Materiais e métodos: Estudo transversal realizado com pacientes diagnosticados com RD em um centro de referência no estado do Ceará, no período de janeiro de 2020 a dezembro de 2020. A amostra foi dividida em dois grupos, um formado por indivíduos com RD e outro sem RD. Modelos de regressão logística foram construídos para análise multivariada entre as variáveis explicativas e a presença de RD e p<0,05 foi considerado estatisticamente significativo. Resultados: Foram analisados 520 prontuários. Após análise multivariada e ajustes para todas as variáveis significativas na análise bivariada, as seguintes variáveis permaneceram associadas à RD: faixa etária, sedentarismo, PD, colesterol total (CT), hemoglobina (Hb) e creatinina (Cr) (p<0,05) . Ainda em relação ao perfil bioquímico entre os grupos, os valores de hemoglobina glicada (HbA1c), CT, Hb e Cr foram significativamente diferentes (p<0,05). A RD foi significativamente relacionada ao PD (p<0,001). Ao comparar o perfil glicêmico, pressórico e antropométrico de acordo com o grau de gravidade da RD, apenas os valores de HbA1c apresentaram diferenças significativas (p=0,040). O PD foi correlacionado com as variáveis do perfil glicêmico, pressórico e antropométrico. Conclusão: O PD teve alta incidência em pacientes com RD, estabelecendo uma associação significativa entre essas complicações.
