Chekhov's "The Steppe": A New Literature for an Old Russia

This article focuses on the reading of The Steppe in order to try to understand how it is situated in the work of Anton Chekhov, paying particular attention to the affiliation of the novel to the Russian literary tradition of the 19th century and to the relationships between the characters of the narrative.
