The Semiosphere as a biosymbolic landscape in the construction of memory in the media

This article is a tribute-text to Iúri Lotman, especially regarding the development of his ideas about cultural memory. The article develops some of the principles established by Lotman and Uspenskii on how culture can be considered collective memory, relating them to the meme theory proposed by Richard Dawkins. This study hopes to demonstrate that the construction of mediatic memory in a biosymbolic semiosphere, emphasizing the journalistic information.
