Dostoevsky one of the greatest Russian writers, author of books such as The Brothers Karamazov (1879), according to Freud, was “the greatest novel ever written”. Aline Bei, in turn, emerge on the literary scene with her first novel, O Peso do Pássaro Morto (2017). Despite their fame, geographic space, historical context and the almost two centuries that separate them, is it possible to establish a border between the two authors? For this is precisely the purpose of this article, which sought to compare the books Niétotchka Niezvânova and Pequena Coreografia do Adeus, by the respective authors, in order to demarcate a terrain where similarities and differences can be identified and stitched together in the light of Freudian knowledge. Taking the singular experiences and the idiosyncrasies of the protagonists Niétotchka and Júlia, this article sought to deepen some questions of special interest to scholars of the psyche, demonstrating that, regardless of the time and the historical-cultural context, some themes touch the individuals in a similar way, bringing them together in the great experience of human existence.
