Introduction to an extensive translation work on the poetry of Serguei Iessiênin, starting from his beginnings and the acceptance of his peasant origins, as opposed to the consolidated perspective, in the post-mortem reception of the poet, and which uses the controversy and stigma of his suicide as a starting point. This article serves as an introduction to Iessiênin's poems that I present in the translations section below.
