Noir series are not as deeply imbedded in the country's culture as in USA. Yet, Brazilian television achieved to create a tradition in this genre rethinking noir patterns and creating original variables. A strategy that confirms the precision of Lotman's conceptions on textuality and cultural memory. Both series analyzed adopt many intertextual citations, both filmic and televisual. In these recent noir series authors do even manage to successfully remake some of the polemic topics characteristic to the genre, as well as reelaborate the powefull aesthetic clues of noir adapted to TV.
