Abstract

This article aims to deepen the path of the French critic Serge Daney that cinema invents a pedagogy. This intuition, developed in the 1970s, is taken up by many thinkers in Europe and Brazil. This pedagogy does not treat the cinema as a privileged transmitter, but as an inventor of forms of engaging the spectator on sensitive sharing of ideas, concepts, perceptions of the world and knowledge. This paper goes through the history of cinema, focusing on filmmakers and theorists that enable us to draw a notion of pedagogy based on film montage.

  • Cezar Migliorin, Universidade Federal Fluminense

    Cezar Migliorin is lecture of Cinema and a member of the Graduate Program in Communication at UFF. Coordinator of a national project on cinema and human rights in more than 200 brazilian schools: Inventing with Difference. Doctor from UFRJ and Sorbonne Nouvelle in France, with postdoc at the University of Roehampton in England. Organizer of the book Ensaios no Real: o documentário brasileiro hoje ( 2010), author of the fiction book A menina (2014) and Inevitavelmente Cinema: educação política e mafuá - all published by Ed. Azougue. Also wrote the book Cartas sem resposta (2015 ), by Ed. Autentica. He is president of Socine - Brazilian Society of Cinema and Audiovisual Studies.

Associate Professor, Department of Film and Video of Universidade Federal Fluminense. Coordinator of the Laboratory of Research and Extension Labores. Develops audiovisual montage teaching project named Tessitura and research on montage of non-linear audiovisual narratives.
