Great news on TV; an experiment in virtual reality; a long-running documentary. Based on these three works, a reflection on the relation between cinematography and memory is proposed. The context is the set of facts and developments after the rupture of the Fundão dam, in the municipality of Mariana - MG, on November 5, 2015. Keeping an eye on the circumstances created to present human tragedies after they occur, this study focuses on how moving images give meaning to much greater goals than mere technical experimentation.
