This paper examines the repercussion of the Brazilian pay TV screen quota from Law No. 12.485/2011 for the expansion of the national independent production, as part of the public support policy from the Brazilian Film Agency (Ancine). It is based on the Prodav 01/2013 results from the Audiovisual Sector Fund (FSA), which invests on independent productions in partnership with TV channels, having television as its first exhibition medium. This article analyzes what characterizes the partnership relations established and what the results say about the application of the screen quota on Brazilian Pay TV.
