Author Guidelines

• The journal publishes texts in Portuguese and Spanish.
• Texts should be sent to secretaria@scientiaestudia.org.br in electronic format: .doc or .rtf. If they contain mathematical formulas or other symbols that require special editing, they should also be sent in .pdf.
• The text, preferably not longer than 12,000 words, should be typed using font Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 spacing between lines.
• The archive submitted should contain the name(s) of the author(s), the institution(s) to which they belong, their complete address(es), and up to 4 lines of professional information about each author.
• Italics should be used to highlight terms or expressions in the text. Quotations, transcriptions and titles in foreign languages should appear between inverted commas.
• Figures, engravings, illustrations and pictures in general should appear on separate pages. Images should be scanned in tones of grey, with minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
• All images should be accompanied with appropriate captions and proper numbering.
• Articles should be accompanied by abstracts of up to 200 words in Portuguese or Spanish, and in English.
• Authors should submit 5 to 10 key words in Portuguese or Spanish, and in English.
• Footnotes should be typed at the end of the archive, using the resources of footnotes’ automatic creation of the edition program.
• Quotations and references to authors that occur within the text should follow the form (surname of author, date) or (surname of author, date, page).
• Bibliographical references should be listed at the end of the article, in alphabetical order of the surnames of first authors, whose works should be listed according to date of publication (from the oldest to the most recent). Titles of periodicals, books, and names of publishers and cities should not be abbreviated.
• Ideas presented in published texts are solely the responsibility of the authors, and do not necessarily represent the opinion of the Editorial Board and the Editorial Council.
• All papers will be submitted to the process of blind review by 2 referees. The authors of articles not accepted for publication will receive an evaluation explaining the rejection. Resubmitted articles will go through a new process of evaluation.
• The journal holds authors’ rights to all the articles published in it. Authors may republish their articles provided that they mention its prior publication in the journal.
