A anástase do real: Mallarmé indiano
Keywords:
Political aesthetics, anachronism, modernismAbstract
This text focuses on visual culture and the relation between politics and aesthetics. These are two fields which, though autonomous, belong inherently to one another. A posthumous poem by Ruben Dario, a sonnet on anachronism by Alphonsus de Guimarães or an opera on the artist as a clown by Freitas Vale are strategies of play, encounter and archive, whose underlying political motivations help broaden the field in which political aesthetics is situated and stress the notion that political aesthetics is always a result of the interchange between a work of art and its interpretation.Downloads
