Abstract

Although the radiculopathies are one of the most frequently conducted pathologies to the Eletroneuromyography (ENMG) realization, its diagnosis is not always neurophysiologically confirmed and many patients that have got irradiated pain show normal survey results. There are also controversies among the neurophysiologists themselves as to the several techniques available for diagnosis, concerning its utilization validity. This article aims to discuss the mechanisms involved in the radiculopathies neurophysiologic evaluation and its relationship to the existing patologies at the vertebral column and at the surrounding muscles and to delimitate its utilization advantages and limits.
