Testes de função ventilatória e obesidade

With the purpose of knowing the behavior of the Test of Ventilatory Function in the obese patients, the authors studied 86 patient, being 31 men and 55 womn, that were separa te in agreement with the weight in morbid and not morbid obesity. The patient's age was 30 ± 15 years and the weight of 84,0 ± 17,2 kg, with IMC 31,5 (medium). Everybody accomplished functional tests when of the internment, and we considered in this study, the CVF, the VEF and the VVM. The patients with morbidy obesity presented smaller values of VVM on the average when not compared with the obese ones morbid, characterizing a restrictive alteration, with p = 0,024.
