Melorreostose em reabilitação
Keywords:
Melorheostosis, Spinal Cord Injury, RehabilitationAbstract
Melorheostosis in rehabilitation Melorheostosis is a rare disease characterized by a linear hyperostosis of the cortex, of unknown etiology, that can affect almost any bony structure in the body, being more common in long bones. Melorheostosis affecting the skull or spine is unusual. A cranial or spinal form of melorheostosis requiring neurosurgical intervention is even more unusual. Depending on the aggressiveness of the desease, some patients will need rehabilitation because the pathological fractures of the bones can cause serious losses to the functional capacity, making the rehabilitation very important for the improvement of the quality of life of these patients.
