As neuropatias periféricas possuem diferentes causas possíveis, como diabetes mellitus, deficiências vitamínicas, autoimunidade, infecções, toxinas, traumas etc. Os sintomas variam dependendo dos nervos afetados, mas podem cursar com queixas como queimação, choque, formigamento, alodínea, adormecimento e perda de força muscular.
