Geometric modeling in the inventory of heritage assets

Taking into consideration that heritage assets are the support of a memory and they are able to solidify or build up a society’s identity, this article aims at presenting the 3D inventory of the Imaculada Conceição chapel, in the county of Cruzeiro do Oeste – PR, a building that witnessed the colonial expansion epoch throughout state territories and is representative of that society’s culture and its construction technique, singular within religious temples being built in the region. For that, an inventory protocol for wooden-built religious buildings had to be developed, since the existing models do not satisfactorily meet the specifications of such assets, which need repairing and have their pieces substituted. The geometric modeling is able to represent and analyze historical, reproducing digital replicas that enable a more accurate historical heritage’s register and management, becoming a crucial tool for the documenting process and the property valuation.
