The first part of the article discusses of the relation between architecture, industrial design, and industrial production. This relation bases the early development of the study called" Industrial production and architectonic design; the elementary school", which was developed with the support of the governmental agencies Fapesp and CNPq. It then presents ideas on raw materials, structures, modularity, and preliminary design that represent the initial concepts that led this research. It concludes by pointing out the need for studies of modularity, which is the most recent version of industrial production, and its application to architecture.Downloads
