Based on different ethnographic and political scenarios linked to the Colombian conflict and, specifically to the forced displacement and exile provoked by it, the text proposes to analyze the classifications and distinctions of the experiences of suffering in a scenario of terror. It argues that the demands formulated by the victims for the distinction of experiences of suffering are inscribed in bordering or overlapping terrains, but not completely coinciding with those of the programs that classify and manage the displacements. For this purpose, the article suggests to observe the relationships between banished people and the daily manifestations of the state, in their magical and ghostly qualities, to analyze how they reach the possibility of rebuilding a sense of home in exile
