Efeito de 12 semanas do futebol recreativo nas funções executivas e na funcionalidade em idosos

Este estudo visa analisar o efeito do futebol recreativo sobre a funcionalidade e as funções executivas dos idosos. Foram selecionados 15 idosos com 6,7 ± 3.4 anos e índice de massa corporal 26,7 ± 3,7 kg/m2. Os participantes foram divididos em dois grupos: grupo intervenção (GI) e grupo controle (GC), o GI realizou a prática do futebol recreativo duas vezes por semana em 12 semanas. Antes e depois do período de intervenção, avaliações de funções executivas (flexibilidade mental, memória de trabalho e tomada de decisão) foram realizadas pelos testes Span de dígitos, teste trilhas e Iowa Gambling Task e avaliação da funcionalidade pelo Senior Battery Fitness Test. Para a comparação dos grupos, foi utilizada a Anova two way de medidas repetidas com o post-hoc de Bonferroni. O nível de significância foi p≤0,05. Após 12 semanas de intervenção, houve uma diferença significativa entre os grupos na agilidade/equilíbrio dinâmico no GI (p = 0,050) e intragrupo na flexibilidade dos membros inferiores no GC (p=0,013). Apesar de promover melhorias em cinco componentes da aptidão física, a prática do futebol recreativo em idosos modificou-se significativamente apenas no equilíbrio/agilidade dinâmica, não mostrando efeito sobre as funções executivas.
