Abstract

Science is becoming more democratic, and regardless of the economic situation of the country, today the exchange of information among researchers is significant. In Brazil, as well as in many other countries around the world, profits from this situation and it stand out widely in researches related to the stem cells. Even with the initial juridical restrictions, the country managed to be outstanding with new initiatives, but it happened only after the release of researches with embryonic stem cells in 2008. Brazil has proved to have conditions to take its researches beyond, nevertheless it’s important to be in control of people’s expectations facing the results, even if they are encouraging, it could take years until it will be widely used in routine therapies.
