An ichthyofaunistic survey conducted in four surface water bodies and one cave in a karstic area in the municipality of Lagoa da Confusão, State of Tocantins, sampled 74 species, mainly characiforms. Sixty six species were sampled in the surface waters. In the “Gruta Casa de Pedra” cave were sampled 29 species with a slightly numerical abundance compared to that found in the surface waters. Specimens of Rhamdia aff. quelen sampled in the cave showed different body sizes class . Their seasonal isolation inside the cave indicates probably that they are completing their life cycles in the subterranean environment, and probably represent a troglophilic population. More studies in this area deserve attention, considering that several of these sites suffer antropic disturbance.Downloads
