Abstract

This text analyzes the Brazilian musical modernism in the 1920s and 1940s, focusing on the circulation of musicians, musical works and aesthetic ideas between Brazil and countries such as France, the United States, Argentina, and Uruguay. We intended to show the importance of international circulation to consolidate the career of modernist musicians and create a definition of Brazilian music that would become a reference in national culture.
