Vitamin A deficiency in children of national migrants in transit through the capital of the State of S. Paulo, Brazil

Children, between 2 and 7 years of age, of national migrants, in transit through the "Central de Triagem e Encaminhamento (CETREN)", in the Capital of the State of São Paulo, Brazil, were examined clinically and biochemically for vitamin A deficiency. Results showed that although vitamin A deficiency as revealed biochemically is a severe Public Health problem, in the group under study xerophthalmia is not.Downloads
