As dinâmicas da inovação tecnológica no setor hoteleiro em tempos de pandemia da Covid-19 na cidade do Rio de Janeiro

Resumo

O turismo e a hotelaria têm enfrentado consequências adversas diante dos surtos de doenças infecciosas de grande escala. Embora parte do setor hoteleiro mundial já tenha se deparado com diversas crises, a Covid-19 acarretou a suspensão e falência de muitos desses empreendimentos. Contudo, também fomentou o surgimento de novos paradigmas na prestação de serviços na hotelaria. Nesse contexto, a inovação tecnológica ganha espaço, com o propósito de fornecer soluções à imposição do distanciamento físico, mantendo a segurança dos hóspedes. Assim, o objetivo deste artigo é identificar as inovações tecnológicas adotadas pelas redes hoteleiras nacionais e internacionais localizadas na cidade do Rio de Janeiro em razão da pandemia da Covid-19. Para tal, esta pesquisa de caráter exploratório-descritivo adotou a abordagem qualitativa, com a utilização de revisão bibliográfica e pesquisa documental realizada por meio da coleta de dados primários de fonte documental nos sites das redes hoteleiras. Como resultados, identificou-se que as implementações referentes à inovação tecnológica nas redes hoteleiras são recorrentes e se restringiram a: uso de sistemas de check-in móvel; máquinas de check-in e check-out sem contato físico; sistemas de robô de limpeza; utilização de aplicativos e de QR Code. Ademais, observou-se que ainda não há implementação de automação robótica ou Inteligência Artificial nas redes hoteleiras pesquisadas. Por fim, espera-se que este estudo contribua com discussões sobre o referido tema no contexto nacional, ponderando as vantagens e desvantagens do uso da tecnologia na hotelaria.
