About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Revista Turismo em Análise (RTA) is a journal focused on the diffusion of scientific knowledge on tourism. The advance of knowledge on the complex phenomenon of tourism requires comprehension of its interfaces with other areas, and the encouragement of interdisciplinary perspectives. RTA publishes research articles and essays on tourism. Eventually, RTA also publishes reports, interviews and reviews that stimulate the interest of the scientific tourism community by offering a critical view on the production of knowledge in this area. While aiming to achieve a global readership, RTA is specialized in debates about Brazil and Latin America.

Published every four months in the continuous publication model.

Copyright

The journal offers free and immediate access to its contents, following the principle that offering free scientific knowledge access to the public provides greater worldwide democratization of knowledge.

Authors who publish in this journal agree with the following terms:

1. Authors keep the copyrights and allow the journal the right of first publishing, having the paper simultaneously licensed by Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) that allows only noncommercial uses, and adaptations must be shared under the same terms, and subjectto the text to the standards adopted by RTA.

2. The journal is allowed to require the copyrights transfer, allowing the article to be used under noncommercial purposes, including the right to send the paper to Free Access or Paid databanks, not assuming the obligation to pass on the value charged from users to the authors.

3. Authors are allowed to take additional contracts separately for nonexclusive distribution of the paper’s version published in this journal (e.g. publishing in institutional repository or as book chapter), recognizing the copyright and first publishing in this journal.

4. The journal Turismo em Análise does not charge its authors for submission or processing their articles.

Editorial Ethics

RTA adopts as a reference for its editorial actions two documents that guide ethics in scientific publication. The international is COPE's Guide of Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Academic Publications, available at: https://publicationethics.org/node/19881, and the the Brazilian is the Manual of Good Practices for Scientific Publication of the Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Administração - ANPAD, available at: http://www.anpad.org.br/diversos/2017/2017_Boas_Praticas.pdf.

Anti-plagiarism Policy

RTA committed to the publication of unpublished works, with the correct referencing of citations, with the real link of the authors in the preparation of the manuscript and with the restraint of plagiarism, self-plagiarism or text recycling, uses specialized systems, that checks percentage of similarity certain text in relation to an extensive database (http://www.revistas.usp.br/wp/wp-content/uploads/Crit%C3%A9rios-para-uso-do-iThenticate-Similarity-Check.pdf), and also requests a declaration from the authors about the originality of the manuscript to avoid double publication.

Archive

All manuscripts submitted to RTA are archived by the CLOCKSS license.

Authorship

According to the recommendations of journal indexing systems, we respect the limit for the number of articles from authors associated to the University of São Paulo (USP).

The same author can only publish in RTA once a year. 

Responsibility for the content

None of the organizations or individuals involved in the boards, committees or publishing processes of the journal are responsible for the content published. Authors are fully responsible for their articles.

All authors must have participated in the drafting of the articles and thus take responsibility on its content. To be considered as an author one must: a) have participated in the article’s draft and design or in analysis and data interpretation, b) in the article’s writing or critical review, and c) in the approval of the version to be published.

Journal History

From 1990, when the first issue of Turismo em Análise was published, up to 2007, its publication was semestrial and continual, with issues edited in the months of May and November. From 2008 on, when Turismo em Análise became electronic, three annual issues have been edited, so it adopted four-monthly periodicity with publications in April, August and December.
