Scientific knowledge in social sciences and proposal of models in tourism

The scientific treatment applied to subjects of tourism is in a time of great questioning and criticism by proposing demarcate their borders in scientific knowledge and consolidate itself as an independent area of research. This work intends to recover characteristics and peculiarities of the social sciences and the foundations of scientific knowledge involving the choice of research methods applied in its themes, emphasizing the case of tourism and its phenomena. It discusses the methodological implications of applied social science research and methodology is detailed proposition of models, considering the increase of its use in academic productions in tourism in recent times and its relevance as an instrument of contribution to knowledge in the area.Downloads
