The advanced activities of daily living at component of the functional

Abstract

This work is a result of the Master’s thesis entitled "Advanced Activities of Daily Living and aging: a review study". The performance of daily activities, also known as activities of daily living, is used as a measure to determine the functional status of the individual. Advanced activities are included in daily activities,they are considered more complex than the basic and instrumental activities and involved different degrees by personal and environmental factors in an integrated manner. In this article, we describe the main characteristics of advanced activities of daily living, the proposed classifi cation in the physical, social and productive leisure areas. Also proposes the inclusion of these activities in the functional assessment of the elderly.
