Abstract

This article seeks to verify whether the contemporary African art can be understood as a global contemporary art, from the language of performance, in which the body is considered local producer of meanings. For this, we’ll analyze the work of the artists Tracey Rose (South Africa) and Ingrid Mwangi (Kenya), in a context where their production can overcome national boundaries, making it close to the productions of other countries outside Africa.
