Abstract

Some authors argue that interpretation mostly deals with formal, monological and simultaneous situations and discourses, bringing with it inflexibility of time, lexical density and terminology, teamwork, positioning and exposition of the interpreters to the public. Recognizing this peculiarity, a survey was made of the annals of the six editions of the National Congress of Translation and Interpretation of Libras and Portuguese conducted by the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The results pointed to the occurrence of one publication in 2010, one in 2012 and three in 2016. The low percentage reveals the need and urgency to promote discussions and productions regarding the formation and performance of interpreters of Libras-Portuguese of Brazil in context conference, since this has been an increasing space for professional practice.
