Abstract

Before the important Antonio Candido’s contribution to the theoretical and critic studies on Brazilian Literature, this article aims to re-read some of his central works in order to notice in them, from his analytic principal, a consistent proposal to the education and performance of Literature teachers.  By problematizing the function of critic and literary theory in environments of teaching and teacher education, it has been verified how the theoretical development carried out by Candido highly contributed to the practice of Literature teaching, for it makes it possible to go deeper in the textual and in the meaning layers of literary works, which is so necessary for the effective approach to the literary work of art.

Author Biography

  • Daniele dos Santos Rosa, Instituto Federal de Brasília

    Possui Graduação em Letras (2005), Mestrado (2009) e Doutorado em Literatura (2014), realizados na Universidade de Brasília/UnB. Atualmente, é professora de Literatura, no curso de Licenciatura em Língua Espanhola, e no Mestrado Profissional em Educação Técnica e Tecnológica no Instituto Federal de Brasília/IFB. Atua nos grupos de pesquisa: Literatura e Modernidade Periférica e Linguagem e Práticas Sociais, desenvolvendo pesquisas e orientações (iniciação científica e monografias). É autora da obra Poesia e história em Pedro Páramo, de Juan Rulfo, publicada em 2015; e organizou diversas obras que tratam da teoria, crítica e ensino da Literatura. É Coordenadora de Publicações da Editora IFB e Editora-chefe da Revista Eixo. Seus estudos, centrados na teoria, crítica e ensino da Literatura, fundamentam-se no reconhecimento da obra literária, autônoma, como resultado dialético da relação entre forma e conteúdo, que, como proposta hermenêutica, transfigura a vida concreta, apreendendo, quando possível, a necessária totalidade da história humana.
