This essay presents analyzes of poems by Virgílio de Lemos, considering important themes in the writing of this Mozambican poet, especially his journeys through the Mozambican islands and the waters of the Indian Ocean. In his lyrics, metaphors stand out that refer to migrations and displacements, configuring an identity path through the spaces and labyrinths of the poet's memory.
