THIS PAPER INTENDS TO ANALISE POLITICAL TEXTS WRITTEN DURING THE MOZAMBICAN REVOLUTION THAT PUT IN CIRCULATION DISCOURSES ABOUT THE “NEW MAN” AND THE “NEW SOCIETY”, SOMETHING THAT HAD BEEN STARTED AND WAS STILL ON ITS WAY TO COMPLETION. I WILL FOCUS ON THE EMERGENCE AND CIRCULATION OF THE EXPRESION “NEW MAN” TAKING INTO ACCOUNT ITS HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AS OPPOSED TO A PORTUGUESE MEMORY AND AT THE SAME TIME AS AN EFFORT TO BUILD UP A REVOLUTIONARY IDEOLOGY. THROUGH ITS CIRCULATION IN THE FRELIMO’ S SPEECHES, THIS EXPRESION GENERATES A READABLE AND REITERATIVE DISCOUSE SERIES.
