Article reveals how gender relations are established in the short story A Tia, by Helena Parente Cunha. emphasizing issues related to social roles represented by the female characters, verifying how the construction of female carachter in the related story, outlines the behavioural traits of woman that demarcate the male superiority; as well reveals the artifacts produced by androcentric society that silent the female voice in years of repression tradittion.
