This essay aims at sketching a reconceptualisation of the concept of world-literature, drawing on the formulation proposed by the Warwick Research Collective in Combined and Unequal Development: Towards a New Theory of World Literature (2015), following a dual movement of compression and expansion. Compression because of a specific focus on the question of resistance to neoliberal and neocolonial models of dehumanisation, expropriation, and extinction. Expansion, due to the suggestion to consider world-cinema in its quality as texto, as na integral part of teh concept of world-literature. the theoretical reflection is based on na articulation of the various critical perspectives of Roberto Schwarz, Theodor Adorno, Fredric Jameson, and the WReC. The texts considered for analysis include a novel by Clarice Lispector, A Hora da Estrela (1977), and a film, Yvone Kane de Margarida Cardoso (2014).
