The goal of this article is to make a comparative analysis of the novels Amar, gozar, morrer (s/d), anonymously authored, and Nova Sapho (1912), by Viscount of Villa-Moura, focusing such analysis on elements such as the pornographic character, the enunciation of the lesbianity, the travels and the court ladies. In order to do so, we are based on the lesbian critics (SANTOS, 2005), the specialists in pornographic, literature (EL FAR, 2004; MENDES, 2017), since both books may be put in such categories, and on the ideals created by the medicine in the end of XIX century (SILVA, 1895; KRAFFT-EBING, 1893), which has hugely influenced the literary production from such period of time.
