THIS ARTICLE AIMS TO INTRODUCE AN ANALYTICAL REFLECTION OF THE EXISTENCE OF OTHER EXCHANGES BETWEEN BRAZIL AND ANGOLA, IN ADDITION TO THOSE ALREADY ESTABLISHED IN LITERATURE, MUSIC AND OTHER ARTS. BASED ON THE CRITICAL READING OF THE NOVEL THE RETURN (2011) FROM DULCE MARIA CARDOSO, THIS ESSAY HELD A DISCUSION ON THE LIVES AND PATHS, ALTHOUGH FICTIONAL, OF THOSE LABELED AS THE RETURNEES, AND WHO AFTER SOME EXPERIENCE OF LIVING IN THE POST-DECOLONIZATION PERIOD IN PORTUGAL, CHOSE TO PROCEED WITH THEIR WAYS OF LIFE AND IDENTITY IN BRAZIL.
