This study aims at investigating the presence of homoeroticism in the literary life of Rio de Janeiro in the last decade of the nineteenth century. Assuming that the homoeroticism found in the fiction of the period has already been well studied, our interest is to find evidence of a sociability among the young Republican writers, including subjects who loved people of the same sex. This suggests that homoeroticism was a concrete fact of the everyday life of these young artists.Downloads
