In this paper, the morphophonological variants of the variable (gente) are described in the speech of residents of the Ariri community, that is located on the Coari Grande river, which belongs to the municipality of Coari, in the State of Amazon. The corpus was taken from eight discursive responses, which appear in the semantic-lexical questionnaire of Azevedo's thesis (2013). This is dialectological and geolinguistic research to work on dialectal variation in territorial space. The descriptive analysis was carried out in the intralinguistic, diatopic-diaphasic, diatopic-diasexual, diatopic-diastratic and diatopic-diagenerational dimensions. The graphemically transcribed results were inserted into five morphophonological charts, which show that local residents use four variants that testify to an ongoing process of linguistic change.
