Abstract

What is Landscape? How is defined the relationship between Man and Nature? What are symbols and meanings behind the Landscape? Would the approaches be exclusively centered on the paleoenvironment reconstructions the most close of the reality? Are the James Pride’s and William Blake’s emotional landscape, the realistic landscape of Delacroix and Velázquez, the liberty and energy of Van Gogh and Bomberg, the memories and dreams of Dali, Chagall and Carel Weight less true than the environmental reconstructions proposed by the archaeological science? According to Henry Frederic Amiel, the Swiss essayist of the XVIIth century, what distinguishes the landscapes from one another is just the mind. I would say that not just the mind, but the perception that the individuals have of their world.
